Commercial concrete repair restores spalled, cracked and deteriorated concrete on decks, columns, beams, slabs, balconies and walls. It includes removing unsound concrete, treating corroded reinforcing steel, placing repair mortar and applying protective coatings. Concrete fails from the inside. Water and chlorides reach the reinforcing steel, the steel rusts and expands, and the concrete cracks and pops off. Left alone, it progresses from cosmetic to structural.
Proper repair removes concrete to sound material, cleans and protects the rebar, and rebuilds with a compatible repair mortar. Then we address the cause with waterproofing, sealers or drainage so it does not come back.

What causes concrete spalling?
Most commonly, water and salts reaching the reinforcing steel. Rust expands and breaks the concrete cover off. Freeze-thaw cycles and poor original placement contribute.
Is spalling concrete a structural problem?
It starts as a surface problem but progresses to structural if the reinforcing steel loses section. Early repair is far less expensive than strengthening.
How do you prevent concrete from deteriorating again?
After repair we seal or coat the surface, correct drainage and, on decks, install traffic coatings to keep water and chlorides out.
